Can anyone advice we have been working and paying into the spanish social system for the past eight months my wife finds her self unable to work we have a doctors note to confirm this, Is she entiteled to sick pay our, employer says we have not worked long enough.
I would imagine that your contract states that you have to work a qualifying period before your entitleement to sick pay kicks in. If you have checked out the terms of your contract and still believe that you are entitled to claim something then speak with OMIC.
If you have a fully legal Spanish Contract, are paying your contributions and have been issued a 'Baja' by your Doctor, then you are entitled to sick pay. - For the first 3 days you are entitled to nothing - For 3 - 16 Days your employer pays - Between 16 to 45 Days the SS pay
Speak to your employer again and if you get no joy either speak with INEM or OMIC
I can only see more and more people coming up against this problem as time goes on. And with less and less money in the system to hand out they are going to put more hurdles in place to jump over before they hand anything out.

Let's see how much money there is in the pot after Friday's budget !
It doesn't seem that there is going to be much in the pot. How can you tax people the amount that is need to pay off the country's debts when the people have nothing more to give ?
