Aesthetics Practice in Murcia Spain

Postby janey » Sat Oct 29, 2011 8:12 am

Hi,
I am a registered nurse currently working in the UK in Asethetics, providing treatments such as Botox, Filler, Face Peels etc etc, i am moving to Spain (Murcia) next year, and i need to find out some information on the legal issues of practising in Spain.
I.e. Can qualified UK nurses administer these type of treatments in Spain? What are the legal issue around this for a Nurse to practice.
If anyone can give me any advice or put me in touch with anyone from the legal departments to find out what the law states with this type of work i would really appreciate it.
many thanks :D

The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in the UK both have international depeartments which may be able to help with advice about how to go about getting whatever qualification you have recognised. The professional association in Spain is the Spanish Nurses’ Association ( Organización Colegial de Enfermería, www.ocenf.org ), but they will only be able to help you with info in Spanish.

Most Uk Health-based qualifications are automatically recognised by the rest of the EU anyway, so it may be that your qualification just needs translating.

... So under these circumstances, and assuming one would be employed by a British speaking / international practice, there would be no required to either validate OR translate any qualification ?

There seems to be quite a few of this kind of business around in Spain - especially on the CDS - that cater to English speakers and Expats, so I can't think that it would be too difficult to arrange.
