An Undertaker.

Seriously, think about it - A guaranteed trade, never gets hit by a recession, constant suppy .... the expat population in Spain is getting ever older, easier to deal with a fellow expat who speaks the lingo and understands the red tape & cultural differences.

Ha ha ! - I suppose a Funeral Director beats the usual 'Owning a Bar, becoming a Builder / Estate Agency' cliche that so many people will no previous expereince fall into.

I think I would opt for becoming a Chimney Sweep, given the number of houses in my area that still have wood burning stoves.

I'd open a decent Bicycle repair shop / spares / servicing / cyclist friendly Cafe.

Loads of Professional cyclists and cycling clubs round my Valley, nowhere for them to shop !

Not a bad idea! - Although these guys are the bane of my life, there are always plenty of them about - all with money to spend - why don't you go for it ?

What are your skills?

The basic staples are still lucrative in Spain. Food, drink, services, utilities etc. You won't become a millionaire, but it will support you.

If it's 25k you can risk and don't need quick returns on, find a really good property bargain - it's a buyers market with desperate sellers...

Remember, Spain will always be the "Miami of Europe" - no amount of economic hardship will make the sun go away...

Can't go wrong at the moment! I actually saw an advert looking for someone to do collections today...
Both my lawyers are specialising in it too!

Sounds like your answer....

Might knock your social life a bit!

Seriously though, if you can invest in yourself doing what you enjoy in a profitable way, you're set.
