<p>My elderly mother in law has a house on the Costa Blanca, which is used very infrequently - 6 or 7 weeks per year at the most. My Husband and I seem to be becoming increasingly more responsible for organising the payment of bills and so on.
My Father in law died around 5 years ago but even before this, we believed that no taxes had been paid for the property for quite some time.
We have received at the property requesting any taxes be paid and are at a loss what to do. We are anxious simply not to ignore the problem as we don't want to be left with an expensive and complicated mess when things eventually do come to a head.
Should we simply go to town hall and ask what we owe?
