Spanish Dentists

Are Dentists covered by the national health service here in Spain, or will I have to pay to go private ?

I hadn't been to the dentist since I moved to Spain 7 years ago, and then found that I was fully covered in the health insurance policy I was already paying. If you have private healthcare, check the smallprint !

I have never had cause to go to a dentist here in Spain, but as far as I am aware the situation is the same as it is / was in the UK. You need to find a dentist in your area who both takes on state healthcare clients (as opposed to private) AND has 'vacancies' (for want of a better word). There are obviously long waiting lists. Sod's law says that whenever anybody enroles with a dentist it;s because they have a pressing problem and don't want to, or can't wait.
