Spanish banking group Bankinter reported today a fourth-quarter net income of 49.6 million euros - a 1.7% fall versus 50.5 million euros in the year-ago period. Analysts polled by Dow Jones Newswires were expecting fourth-quarter net profit of 53 million euros. Trading income for the group slipped 29% to 25.32 million euros against the year-ago period, while net fees and commissions rose 3% to 51.2 million euros. The company reported 53.1 million euros in asset losses, against losses of 90.2 million euros in the year-ago period.
