Spain's industrial production rose by 5% in August in comparison with the same month of a year earlier, according to the Index of Industrial Production (IPI) published on Tuesday by the Spanish Statistical Office (INE).
Production of consumer goods rose by 4.8% with production of durable consumer goods and non-durable consumer goods rising by 7.9% and 4.6% respectively.
Production of capital goods rose by 11% and production of energy and intermediate goods rose by 1.6% and 5.3% respectively.
Spain's industrial production fell by 1.4% from July to August, with durable consumer goods, intermediate and non-durable consumer goods production rising by 0.7%, 0.3% and 0.2% respectively.
On the other hand, production of capital goods fell by 2.7% and that of energy decreased by 5.6%.
Spain's industrial production has been rising for 7 consecutive months on a year-on-year basis.
