A recent survey has revealed that Spain continues to be the top choice of destination for a second home among the British, according to a joint survey between Savills International Research and the Home and Away group, who operate a number of Holiday Rental websites.
A total of 1,200 people took part in the survey, which revealed that Spain, Portugal and the South of France remained more popular than destinations a little further afield such as Cyprus, Greece or Turkey, and the distant destinations of the USA and the Caribbean.
The British Holiday Home market has doubled since 2001, standing at an estimated 400’000 homes a year, although there has been a significant decrease in these numbers over the last 18 months.
