Earlier today saw Madrid unveil a telephone box in which users can both make a telephone call and recharge the battery of an electric car.
The cabin in suburb of the capital, close to the headquarters of Telefonica, has the appearance of a normal telephone box but is also equipped with electric sockets that can be used for recharging. The dual-purpose phone cabin, the first of its kind, has been developed as a joint project between Telefonica and electricity company Endesa, a statement said.
Spain's government wants to see up to 250,000 electric cars on the country's roads by 2014.
