The University of Zaragoza looks is proposing to host an international event to study Islamic laws and multiculturalism, to be held at the end of September.
It is expected to be attended by experts and scholars from different fields in different countries as well as by numerous Spanish officials.
The themes and points of discussion are expected to involve Islam in Spain and Europe, unbiased and scientific analysis of new challenges in the region, and finding ways for boosting multicultural coexistence.
Five specialized forums will also be held during the two-day congress featuring "Islam and laws in Europe", "Inter-cultural conflicts and the family law", "Islam, law and politics in Spain", "Islam and security", and "Islam and European institutions".
There is currently an estimated one million Muslims living in Spain, which makes up two percent of the country's population.
