Spanish Public Works Minister Jose Blanco said on Thursday cuts in infrastructure spending in 2011 will be reduced by 700 million euros, more than the 500 million announced last week.
Blanco told a parliamentary committee the extra 200 million euros would be possible thanks to improved efficiency in infrastructure projects.
The government had announced 6.4 billion euros in cuts in infrastructure spending this year and next to help rein in its public deficit.
