Earlier this week the CCOO and UGT Spanish workers Unions formally presented their call for a General Strike across the country to be held on September 29. Both unions think that there is much hope of the Government doing anything to halt the labour reform legislation which is the reason behind the protest.
The reforms are due to be finalised by the Government on the 9th of September.
The CCOO and UGT organisation secretaries jointly critisised the PNV and CiU parties for not voting against the labour reforms which, they claim, worsen the conditions for workers.
