It is a good time for overseas medical insurance policyholders to be looking into purchasing property in Spain, an industry website has asserted.
According to Mark Stucklin, head of the Spanish Property Insight site, expatriate health insurance customers can find some "great deals" in the country, but investors should be cautious.
"We are now in a good time to be a buyer, but there is plenty of overpriced rubbish on the market which you should avoid and give a wide berth."
While there is "good value" to be had, the property market is unlikely to undergo a "speedy recovery", Mr Stucklin pointed out.
International healthcare insurance policyholders should ensure they do a lot of homework and research before they relocate to Spain, to avoid paying over the odds for property.
His comments follow figures released by the National Institute of Statistics, which show that house sales in July were up 15.7 per cent on the previous month, taking the number of property purchases in the country to 38,838.
