During the last 2 years a total of 1'148,449 companies were registered with Spain's Social Security System in order to be considered a 'micro' companies (with between 1 and 9 employees), However it is from such companies that 159,202 of the occupational accidents were recorded, which accounts for 20% of the total.
The Ministry of Work and Immigration and the Regional Authorities intend to work together in order to reduce occupational accident rates and improve working conditions. This has resulted in the introduction of the 'Prevención10.es' public service, which will be a resource available to all small business owners.
The service could potentially represent a saving for businesses of approximately 178,000,000 euros, thereby guaranteeing more profitable and effective investment aswell as improving the protection of health and safety for company employees.
