Spain's Economy Minister Elena Salgado called on Wednesday for European leaders to provide seamless support for the euro at this week's summit in Brussels.
Salgado also said it was reasonable to increase the size of the European rescue fund set up to help out struggling euro zone countries, in that its real capacity should match its theoretical capacity.
She said also said volatile spreads on Spanish debt were due to low year-end volumes.
Salgado said the finances of Spain's autonomous regions for the third quarter would be published next week. That came after ratings agency Moody's placed Spain under review for a possible rating downgrade in which it cited funding concerns in 2011 and worries the regions would not meet their deficit cutting obligations.
