Spanish Industrial figures improve for January

Manufacturing production from Spanish Industry improved for the month of January, according to figure released earlier today by the National statistical office (INE).

Production was up by 3.8% in January fcompared to the previous year, following a 0.1% drop in December, and was significantly higher than the 0.5% forecast for the month.

Output of consumer goods increased by an adjusted 3.2% in January, while production of durable consumer goods fell by 5.5%. Non-durable consumer goods output grew 4.1% and capital goods by 4.6%. Increases in intermediate and energy output were 4.8% and 3.6%, respectively.
