The Spanish airports Authority (AENA) have released a statement, announcing how it has invited ten seperate business groups to bid to operate the air traffic control towers at 13 of Spain's airports.
The 13 towers will be spilt into three lots, and each successful bidder will be nominated by August 2011. The contracts will initially be for 5 years, with the possibility of extending to 6 years.
Those who passed the first stage of bidding for the contract had to demonstrate a required level of technical and financial solvency.
Lot 1 includes Control Towers at Alicante, Valencia, Ibiza and Sabadell airports
Lot 2 includes Control Towes at Seville, Jerez, Vivo, A Coruna, Melilla and Cuatro Vientos
Lot 3 Includes Controling airspace over Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and La Palma.
