Madrid's Puerta del Sol central square has now returned to normal following a 4 week occupation by the M15 protestors.
The group, also calling themselves 'Los Indignados' had been camping overnight in the square since May the 15th - the week before the country's regional and municipal elections - to protest against rising unemployment, ineffective austerity cuts and the political culture of the country as a whole. The movement soon spread to as many as 50 other major twons and cities across Spain and was even reported to have influenced uprisings in other European countries.
At one point there was estimated to be as many as 25'000 demonstrators in the square.
The final vote was made in a general assembly of the group on saturday that the movement had done all it could in raising awareness from the camps, but that they would continue with their protests in other ways over the course of future weeks and months.
