Mariano Rajoy, the leader of the PP Opposition, has demanded that the Prime Minister calls an early elections following his State of the Nation address yesterday.
Rajoy spoke of every passing day bring worsening unemployment levels and greater debt. He noted that since the government had implemented measures with the specific intention of addressing unemployment, a further 300'000 had joined the ranks of those without work.
Whilst Rajoy accused the PM of having lost the confidence of the public and the markets, the PM countered that the PP simply had no policies or solutions for Spain's troubles other than simply calling for early elections.
The Prime Minister refuted the allegations that his party has been responsible for rising unemployment, escalating public spending, and out of control national debt, by accusing the opposition of lying.
