Online travel experts, ULookUBook.com, who offer all inclusive holidays to Spain, say that their customers are returning to the country year after year. This insider knowledge has been backed up by official figures from 2010 released this month. The data collated by the Spanish National Institute of Statistics, showed that 83% of people visiting Spain had been to the country at least once before.
The same report revealed that tourists from the United Kingdom were the largest group of non-residents staying in Spain, taking up 25.6% of overnight stays. Spain's biggest tourism markets are currently Germany and Britain; Spain receives the world's fourth-largest number of tourists, according to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
Ian Raine of ULookUBook.com comments: "We are seeing an increase in the number of customers returning to Spain, with many having been there several times before. The Canary and Balearic Islands are incredibly popular with British tourists all year round; these figures show that Spain is consistently a favourite with Brits."
Spain's Industry Minister, Miguel Sebastian, recently increased his prediction for international tourist arrivals for 2011. They are now expected to increase by up to 6.5%.
Sebastian went on to say that this year would be the fourth best for the Spanish tourism sector in history.
