Two separate incidences of domestic violence took place in the Valencia province on Monday, resulting in the death of one of the victims and the other being committed to hospital with multiple knife wounds, although they are not thought to be life threatening.
In both cases the partners were quickly apprehended.
The fatality was caused as a result of manual strangulation against a Bolivian national. Her husband, also believed to be Bolivian, had been reported for acts of domestic violence three years ago, but no action had been taken.
Sadly, this bears out an earlier blog by Tumbit's Jo Green, documenting how the majority of domestic violence fatalities which occur in Spain are not committed by Spanish nationals, but by the immigrant communities.
