The Spanish stock market's opening was delayed due to technical problems, a spokesman for the Spanish stock exchange operator BME said on Monday.
The problems are being evaluated, but it is still too early to say when stocks will begin trading, the spokesman said.
Minimum staffing due today's public holiday in Spain could be behind the delay in solving the problem, one trader said.
"It's a public holiday today throughout Spain so probably there has only been minimum staff on duty which has meant fixing the problem has taken longer."
"It's not the first time the opening has been delayed, but usually it's a matter of minutes," he said.
