Prime Minister Zapatero met with his British counterpart at Downing Street yesterday afternoon.
It was the first official meeting between the Spanish PM and David Cameron since he took office last year, although the two have met previously at various meetings of EU leaders.
The main topics of conversation centred around the economy of Europe together with the political unrest in much of North Africa an the near east.
It is understood the Zapatero also spoke to the British PM about this weekend's tragedy in Norway and how it called for 'combined answers' and a 'European solution'.
The Spanish PM later met with with British leader of the Opposition, the Labour Party's Ed Milliband, at the Spanish Embassy.
