Last week's appeal to the commercial court in Elche by Ryanair has been rejected by a judge.
The airline had appealed over the order by AENA that it should be mandatory for all passengers to embark and disembark by foot over the summer months at Alicante's El Altet airport.
Ryanair had complained that the new rules imposed on them by AENA concerning the use of airbridges at the new terminal did not uphold the contract that the airline had with the airport before the new terminal came into operation.
Ryanair were instructed to pay the court costs, but are still able to persue an appeal with a higher court if they so wish.
