Easyjet has shown their confidence in the region, by adding new flights to the Costa Blanca to their already busy schedule.
The airline has announced 5 new flights each week to Spain from Southend International Airport, due to commence from April 2012.
The new service will fly into the Costa Blanca's El Altet airport at Alicante, however, like many other airlines they have as yet not made any announcement with regards to the possibility of their flying into the Murcia region's Corvera airport, due to open in Spring of 2012. The airline already operates a number of flights into San Javier airport, just 19kms away.
Murcia is expected to see a significant boost in tourism from 2014 following a significant investment in infrastructure to accommodate the Paramount Pictures theme park. The park itself expects to attract around 5 Million visitors each year, with 3 Million of them expected to fly into the new airport at Corvera, which will be connected by means of a dedicated railway.
Murcia currently has some of the lowest priced property in Spain due to an excess of stock, however investors and speculators have already begun to purchase property in anticipation of an increase in demand in the area.
