Spanish banks borrowed 57 billion euros from the European Central Bank (ECB) in July, up from 49 billion euros in June, data from the Bank of Spain showed on Friday.
The data reflected stable funding conditions compared with a month ago despite tension in peripheral euro zone markets, and the figure was far from the 140 billion euro high hit in July 2010.
The data also showed that total net borrowing was 52.1 billion euros in July compared with 47.5 billion euros in June.
