Spanish airports are amongst the worst in Europe when it comes to flight delays, a recent study by Eurocontrol has shown.
Recent delays and flight cancelations have been caused as the result of strike action, Adverse weather conditions and overcapacity.
The report goes on to name Barcelona's El Prat airport as the worst offending airport in the whole of Europe for delays, whit Madrid's Barajas airport in fifth place.
However, the figures did show an improvement on those recorded last year.
Over 50% of all delays have been put down to the airlines themselves, but delays caused by air traffic control are mainly due to a lack of capacity in the system to hold the volume of planes, as opposed to the airports themselves.
