Earlier this year Spanish car manufacturer SEAT introduced itself to the Chinese market at the Shanghai Auto Show. Just four months later, the SEAT Leon featured on the chinese official website for the environment, hinting that the model will be available in the chinese market in the very near future.
SEAT cars are popular in Europe, due to being priced favourably compared to their sister brand, Volkswagen's cars, but in China the Leon will take the role of a high end hatchback.
The price has not been released as yet, but is expected to be considerable to the the costs of importing the vehicle.
The long term goal of SEAT must surely be to manufacture the car in China and as such it is important that the vehicle is both priced and promoted correctly from the very start if this goal is to be realised.
