Spain's Labour Ministry today confirmed that the number of newly registered unemployed increased by almost 100'000 during September alone.
Although September is generally expected to bring increased results due to seasonal contracts for work coming to an end, the figures for 2011 represent the worst seen since records began in 1996.
The 2.32% increase on Augusts' figures represents a further 95,817 individuals and brings the total number of unemployed to 4,226,744.
