In a move that will, perhaps intentionally, frustrate the 'Los Indignados' protestors, the president of the European Council has decided to postpone next weeks' EU summit by one week.
Herman Van Rompuy, decided that the summit members needed more time to prepare for their meeting to finalise a plan for Greece and to help shore up debt-laden banks.
Over 150 'Indignados' set off marching from Madrid back in July, in order that they could arrive in Brussels in time for the summit, where they arrived at the weekend to meet up with other protest groups from around Europe.
A number of arrests were made on Sunday when the group, who originally intended to park in the city's Elizabeth park, were asked to move to the nearby campus grounds of the University of Flanders.
The Summit has been called amid fears that Greece and other indebted European countries are about to default on their debts, and cripple the banks that hold their bonds, which has caused panic in the financial markets.
