An initial agreement to build a new coastal railway connection between Valencia and Alicante was signed ina meeting in Valencia yesterday between Development Minister José Blanco and the regional councillor for infrastructure, Isabel Bonig.
The cost of the project has been estimated at €1.3 billion, of which the Regional Government will contribute €770 million, with Central Government contributing €560.
The Generalitat has undertaken a number of financial and other feasability studies which are expected to be taken into account before the final decison.
