The National Geographic Institute (IGN) has confirmed that a total of 99 earthquakes were recorded up to 19.00hrs CET, six of which were strong enough to have been felt by the Island's residents.
Scientists say that there has been an increase in both frequency and intensity in activity and, with the majority of earthquakes being centered in and around the same area - off the northwest coast of la Frontera.
Since the earthquake swarm began on 17th July, a total of 11'023 earthquakes have been recorded, with little sign of the seismic activity coming to an end.
Meanwhile, Biologists from the University of La Laguna and the Oceanographic Institute of the Canary Islands studying the seabed of El Hierro have not detected any sign of life within a radius of 1.5 miles around the volcaic eruption off the coast of La Restinga.
The Cabildo also reported how the eruption has now affected almost one hundred different species of marine wildlife around the island.
