A number of UK papers this morning are reminding travellers of the value that Spain is now representing as a holiday destination.
A study published today by The Post Office : Travel Money has shown how prices on a selected number of products commonly purchased by holidaymakers is now cheaper than they were 5 years ago, before the downturn in the global economy.
A crash in Spain's once booming property market has also encouraged many local businesses and municpalities to turn their focus back to tourism as one of their main sources of revenue.
The report, which only surveyed the cost of consumables and not the overall costs of transport and accomodation, used just one target area of each country studied, and as such did not take into account the pricing differences (influenced by taxes ?) across the regions.
The popular Costa Del Sol in Spain returned the best value for money in Europe, and was second only to Sri Lanka in the whole of teh world.
