Ryanair's outspoke and often contraversial CEO, Michael O'Leary, has predicted that the airline will continue to increase it's market share in Spain after becoming the largest airline in the country last year.
Statistics released by AENA last week demonstrated how the budget airline flew some 32.2 Million Passengers into their network of airports over the course of 2011.
The total number of all passengers arriving at AENA's Spanish airports last year reached 204 Million - an increase of 6% on 2011 - meaning that Ryanair provided around 16% of all traffic.
However, Ryanair's numbers have grown by more than three times that, providing 21.1% more traffic in 2011 than the year previously.
O'Leary confirmed that Spain accounted for about around 20% the airline's total passenger numbers, follwed by Italy and the UK as the next largest contributers of Business.
