A Facebook campaign, which was launched in October of 2011, has now reached 5'000 signitures on it's petition, which demands that the Regional Government of the Balearics continues to subidise Ryanair's winter flights to Ibiza.
The 'Reinstate Winter Flights' campaign is targetted towards the Regional Minister forTourism, Carmen Ferrer, who cut Ryanair's subsidy payment last year.
The decision not to pay the €365,000 annual subsidy towards the maintaining of flights over the quieter winter period was made due it having little impact on business on the island, and therefore not representing value for money.
Ryanair will re-introduce their 26 domestic and international routes to and from Ibiza from the 25th of March.
Routes from Ibiza to the mainland include : Girona; Malaga and Sevilla.
Routes from Ibiza to the UK and Ireland include : Birmingham; Bournemouth; Bristol; Dublin; East Midlands; Glasgow; Leeds-Bradford; Liverpool; Stansted and Manchester.
