Mariano Rajoy addresses parliament yesterday to defend his economic policy, where he confirmed that he expected the situation regarding current levels of Spanish unemployment to get worse throughout the sourse of 2012.
He commented how it would take time for the changes in deficit measures, and changes to employment practices to have any effect. The Government is also due to announce futher empoloyment reforms in parliament tomorrow.
Ammendments to the current laws are expected to make the process easier for businesses to make their staff redundant in difficult time, which will in turn encourage them to take on extra staff, knowing that their obligations will be lessened in the event that cuts need to made.
The PM also spoke of how the economic policies of Spain were synchronised with those of the wider EU and commented how now was not the time to complain about the bitter legacy than the previous administration had left behind them.
