The Basque Regional Minister for Industry, Innovation, Trade and Tourism Bernabé Unda yesterday officially opened the Control Centre for IBIL, the electric vehicle charge point manager, created by the Basque Government in a joint initative with the Basque Energy Entity (EVE) and Repsol.
The control centre, located at its headquarters in the BEC Tower, in Vizcaya, will be responsible for monitoring all of the recharging points installed by IBIL - public and private.
IBIL will also coordinate the electric vehicle car sharing hire service which was launched earlier last month.
The opening was attended by a number of key figures from the Automobile and Energy sectors, including : Repsol Director for New Energies Josu Jon Imaz; Renault's Executive Director for Spain, Armando García Otero; Peugeot's Executive Director for Spain, Antonio González; Nissan's Executive Director for; General Motors Institutional Relations Director for Spain, José María Garrido, and Toyota's Corporate Affairs Director for Spainm Karl Van Dijck.
Agustin Markaide the Chairman of Basque supermarket Chain, Eroski, also attended the event in their capacity as a provider of recharging points at many of their 1088 stores throughout Spain.
