New vehicle registrations in Spain continued to slide yet again in March, with sales being down 4.5% on March 2011.
The figures, released yesterday by the car manufacturers' association ANFAC (Asociacion Española de Fabricantes de Automoviles y Camiones) came after February saw a 2.1% year-on-year decline in sales.
Total sales for March arrived at 84'247 units, with the total number of vehicles sold for the year to date coming to 204'119 units - a 1.9% fall compared to the same period last year.Economic factors such as an increase in unemployment, together with the rising cost of fuel - which is now at record levels - will undoubtedly have an impact on vehicle sales.
