Spain new vehicle registrations continue to fall in March

Tue 3rd Apr 2012

New vehicle registrations in Spain continued to slide yet again in March, with sales being down 4.5% on March 2011.

The figures, released yesterday by the car manufacturers' association ANFAC (Asociacion Española de Fabricantes de Automoviles y Camiones) came after February saw a 2.1% year-on-year decline in sales.

Total sales for March arrived at 84'247 units, with the total number of vehicles sold for the year to date coming to 204'119 units - a 1.9% fall compared to the same period last year.

Economic factors such as an increase in unemployment, together with the rising cost of fuel - which is now at record levels - will undoubtedly have an impact on vehicle sales. However, Tumbit can't help but agree with our regular blogger, Mr Grumpy, when it comes to analysing the real reason as to why the Spanish struggle to sell vehicles >>>>
