Spain home to best city in the world for food

Earlier this year "Restaurant" magazine found that Spain dominated their survey of the World's top 50 restaurants, however today "Which ?" consumer guides have named a Spanish City as the best destination in the world for lover of good cuisine.

San Sebastian, the home to the World's 3rd best restaurant - was judged in 1st place, ahead of 10th palce Copenhagen - home to the world's No.1 restaurant, 'Noma'.

'El Celler de Can Roca' in Girona took 2nd place, 'Mugaritz' in San Sebastian 3rd place - both for a second consecutive year - while 1st place was taken by 'Noma' in Denmark for a 3rd consecutive year, however Noma was only able to wrest this coveted position from Spain's 'El Bulli' when Ferran Adria decided to close his restaurant.

Spain also managed to bag the 8th place with 'Arzak', also in San Sebastian, and helping to confirm the Basque City's reputation as one of the world's foremost culinary cities.

Spain's next placing was 'Asador Etxebarri' in Bizkaia - also in the Baque Country - coming in 31st place, followed by 'Quique Dacosta' in Denia on the Costa Blanca in 40th Place.

4 and 5. New York, USA and Paris, France (joint)

6. Emilia Romagna, Italy

I could be wrong, but i'm guessing that none of them offer a 10 Euro Menu del dia, including 3 courses, bread, wine and coffee ?

Can anyone (who is not a journo) recommend any of these 'world class' Spanish restaurants ? - are they any good, or just overpriced pretentious food ?
