A recent study has reported how fear of redundancy or money problems during these times of recession keeping people awake at night.
Almost 50% of those involved in the Spanish survey said that they were suffering from insomnia due to the state of the economy. Experts say that fear redundancy or difficulties in reaching the end of the month financially are keeping people awake at night – which generally effected more men than women.
Between 16% and 21% of Spaniards questioned told how they have problems sleeping three or more nights a week and just under half said how they regularly suffer some kind of insomnia.
However, The INFITO Centre for Phytotherapy Research, reported that despite the recession being to blame for many sleepless nights in Spain, family problems were also a notable cause – especially in the Madrid area.
