The installation of solar power cells on two factory buildings in Spain will be among the largest to date for Spanish utility Endesa, executives announced. Energy Conversion Devices (a Solar Energy Consultancy from Michigan, USA) announced that they had signed an agreement with Endesa, the largest electric utility company in Spain, to construct photovoltaic laminates on the rooftops of two buildings in Seville. The photovoltaic system is expected to generate about 3 megawatts of energy. Endesa will take possession and manage the system when its construction is completed and it has been fully commissioned in the first quarter of 2010.
Andreu Cladera, Photovoltaic Manager at Endesa stated "We are excited to partner with ECD and United Solar (a subsidiary of ECD) on our largest rooftop solar project to date," .
