The National Statistics Institute in Madrid today reported how Industrial turnover in Spain plunged 15.6% year-on-year in October compared to a18.8% fall in September. This is the thirteenth consecutive month where industrial turnover has recorded a double-digit fall. Turnover dipped 27.4% in the energy sector, while turnover in consumer goods industries was also reported to have dropped by 11.4%.
In the year up to October industrial turnover fell by 24.5% compared with the first 10 Months of 2008.
NSI also reported how new industrial orders fell 14.6% annually in October, compared with a 19% decrease for September. The first 10 Months of the year saw new orders down 25.8% from the same period in 2008.
