A new Spanish Airline has sprung to life this week, which proposes to connect the Canary Islands to a number of airports on mainland Spain.
The EU20 Million startup enterprise - Bird Blue Air Line - will be based at Tenerife Norte and is awaiting final approvals to be signed off by the local Government authorities in Tenerife.
Spanish daily, Preferente, reports that the new Airline will lease ATR72s for short flights between the Canary Islands, while different Boeing Aircraft will be used for longer flights from the Canary Islands to destinations on the mainland, such as Madrid-Barajas; Barcelona-El Prat and Santiago de Compostela.
