Spain's digital dividend taken to ECJ

 

The Spanish digital dividend plan will be taken to the European Court of Justice in Brussels by Infraestructuras y Gestión 2002 – the company that got Spain's Supreme Court to annul the licences of 9 DTT channels in Spain.

It argues that the plan, which draws a new DTT map in the country following the digital migration, is against the European legislation since it does not include an open frequency allocation process. Infraestructuras will also take the case to the Spain's Supreme Court.

The company has also urged the Government to hold a public tender to award the 9 DTT licences annulled by the Supreme Court.
