Closing the local branch of the Instituto Cervantes signalled "a clear failure" by the Spanish Government to comply with its obligations under Cordoba agreement of 2006, Podemos La Linea said in a statement.
party, which hopes to field candidates in forthcoming municipal elections in La Linea, lashed out at both the PP and the PSOE for failing to invest in the border town.
Podemos said the two had for years used Gibraltar for party political ends, to the detriment of Spain's international reputation and La Linea's economy.
