Strike action planned by French Air Traffic Controllers for Thursday 9th of April has prompted the cancellation of hundreds of flights to and from Spain.
Hundreds more are likely to result in significant delays.
Further strikes are planned for 16 to 18 April and 29 April to 2 May, coinciding with spring school holidays in France.
Ryanair reports it has had to cancel more than 250 flights, with further cancellations likely, while competitor Easyjet has been forced to cancel 118 flights.
Airlines are urging all passengers to check the latest online flight information before leaving home.
