Immigration, Celestino Corbacho, said on Monday that the Government is to spend 292 million € this year to help with youngsters, the disabled and women who have been victims of domestic violence to obtain work.
Speaking to the Work and Immigration Commission, he said the money would go to employers who take on people in these sections of society, but the Minister warned that the measure would be cancelled in two years if it proved to be ineffective.
The Minister has admitted that unemployment is set to rise this year, and said the exit from recession would be slow. He said he would like to see the 420 € monthly help, paid for six months after a person's right to unemployment pay has ended, be extended to further people.
