Spanish financial services provider CaixaBank, owned by La Caixa, has launched what it describes as the first Apple Watch banking application available in Spain.
The app allows customers to find the exact location of their nearest branches and ATM machines via their Apple Watch, with a map display making them even easier to locate. The Apple Watch will also show information on each branch and details of the services provided, as well as accessibility information, opening hours and contact telephone numbers.
CaixaBank already offers a number of wearable banking services for smartwatches, and its app for the Sony Smartwatch 2 won the 2014 The Banker award for best innovation in delivery channels. The company also launched a dedicated payment wristband at the end of last year in partnership with digital security company Gemalto.
