The Spanish subsidiary of Paris-headquartered engineering consultancy group Altran has signed an agreement with the Andalucía regional government to set up an aerospace manufacturing innovation centre near the southern Spanish city of Cádiz.
The company said it aims to develop new technologies there and in doing so "become a global benchmark and motor for promoting the economy and employment in Andalucía".
It expects the centre to create more than 150 jobs over the next few years at what will be known as the Altran Innovation Centre for Aerospace Manufacturing.
High levels of robotics and automation will be used "with the objective of developing research and development (R&D) projects in conjunction with leading clients".
