Rakuten VoD subsidiary Wuaki.tv has reached the milestone of 2 million users in Spain, having increased its customer base by 600,000 in 2015 alone.
Globally, the company has over 3 million registered users after posting a 55% growth in the past 12 months.
In addition to Spain, the company is currently present in France, the UK, Germany, Italy, Ireland and Austria, and is planning to roll out its service in 15 European countries by the end of the year.
In Spain, users can access its catalogue of films and TV series via connected TV sets, smartphones, PCs, laptops, games consoles and Google Chromecast. The company recently reached a deal with Orange Spain to offer its streaming service to the operator’s pay-TV customers at no extra cost until May.
